Anxiety, Manic Depression, Bi Polar and friends. Part 1

So whilst watching Stephen Fry’s life of the manic depressive, some of the stuff hit home and i kinda had an episode of some kinda (anxiety, mania or depression, or a combination of them all, not sure). So i wrote down all my thoughts on paper, hopefully someone else who is trying to understand themselves will watch these vids and be able to understand themselves a bit better. Even during this video, my mood goes from being “numb”, to being a little hyper, then calming down again. Weird. Also, my apologies for breathing down the mic so much, damn thing, i’ll have to invest it a half decent one :p

Health Anxiety & Hypochondria

This video talks about my struggle with health anxiety and hypochondria – it’s not fun… Do you struggle with anxiety manifesting itself in a physical way? Hypochondria is also known as “health anxiety”. Hypochondria is a belief that real or imagined physical symptoms are signs of a serious illness, despite medical reassurance and other evidence to the contrary. Such a person may repeatedly look up symptoms on the internet and become convinced that they have at least some (or all) of them (“Cyberchondria”). www.anxietyzone.com Like me on Facebook: www.facebook.com Follow me on Twitter: www.twitter.com_xsullen_girlx

SYNOPSIS: “We all live in continuous hypnosis, and those people who awake from the dream and start to live their own lives frighten the rest of us. For the first time this series Dr Dawn made a house call to visit Jolene who was suffering with postnatal depression since the birth of her third child 9 months previous. Despite antidepressants Jolene had been experiencing anxiety whenever she left the house. Dr Dawn suggested cognitive behavioural therapy and Jolene saw a specialist who helped with breathing techniques that should help her calm down. 4 weeks later Jolene was able to actually visit Dr Dawn in the clinic feeling much better and more able to cope than she had previously. Dr Dawn advised her to keep taking the anti-depressants before consulting her doctor as there was a risk her condition could deteriorate again.
