Anger Management Activities

When you are throttled by anger what do you do? Minor arguments can agitate the anger that lies beneath you. If you don’t find ways to control your rage of emotion this can bring you strained relationships between you and your colleagues. Anger is just a spur of the moment, don’t let it get on to you. There are some activities where you can make use of to overcome your anger. You just need to try them and discover its effectiveness.

Create an activity that will allow them to express their anger. The anger management activity should focus on how they are able to overcome their difficulty despite their stress and hectic schedules at work. The moderator should ensure that the activity will give an atmosphere of calmness. Thus the moderator should be in control of the activity to avoid untoward incident that may occur during the activity.

Start the session by grouping them into three to five members per group. Don’t get the group too crowded to avoid misunderstanding among them. Set questions that everybody can relate to. These are question that can encourage them to participate in group discussions.

Questions like, have you experienced a sudden outrage of feeling sometime in your life? Have anyone angered you today or the past days? Or you have this anger inside you that you’d been hiding for the longest time?

Give them ample time to think of situation or circumstance that would give them the strength to share their experiences. Once they will be raising their hands everything follows to where it should go. Never interrupt a confessing member; this will disrupt his thoughts about his experience. When he is done allow everyone to give a short opinion about his situation, the members opinion matters because they are not just resolving the problem of the latter member but the offered solution can be the answer to their own difficulty as well. This is how anger management activities should work.

Learning to let go of the pain will help us live our lives to the fullest. Everybody wants a happy life. If you will keep those pain and grudges within you, chances are you will get sick and to some extent it will lead you to sever psychological imbalances. Learn to forgive and when you forgive you need to resolve the issue between you and the person involved.

The group anger management activity should be done solely to confront difficulties and to find better solution to every group member’s problem. Confidentiality is required during and after the activity. Hence the limitation that each one shared in the activity should be treated with respect and should not be used against any colleague in the future. This way your working relationship will improve and you can address each others problem appropriately.
